LankaLIKE Fairtrade Cooperation (LLFCO) is a local company – founded in 2015. The special philosophy of the cooperation is to support of the local community, especially women – and the environment.
LLFCO works together with the local NGO Nature Volunteers Association (NVA) in Aluthgama. At the Women Empowerment project of the NVA women receive free vocational training in sewing, knitting, batik, patchwork, etc. After 6 month of training the women are able to make products independently. All LankaLIKE articles are produced at the production unit of the NVA in Aluthgama. The women can work here under humane working conditions and also at their home working places. For their quality products the women are paid fair, which allows them to earn an additional income for their families and increase their livelihood.
